With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 set to get underway in a few days time, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) already have some concerns to address. The newly-formed IPL franchise has been handed a massive setback with three of their pacers yet to get clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
The Lucknow-based franchise are closely keeping a watch on their pace trio of Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan. According to reports, the pace trio’s participation is subject to fitness clearance by the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence as they are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Mayank Yadav likely to miss initial stages of IPL 2025 for LSG
While an update still awaits, according to a report in Cricbuzz, Mayank Yadav is set to be sideline for majority part as he is nursing a back stress which he sustained during his international debut series against Bangladesh. The 22-year-old, who was retained by the franchise for INR 11 Crore ahead of the mega auction, recently resumed bowling at the Centre of Excellence.
Avesh Khan, on the other hand has been struggling with some knee issue of the landing foot, however, he is likely to get a green signal if cleared fit ahead of IPL 2025. While the franchise will hope the pace trio to regain complete fitness, they will kickstart their season on Monday, March 24 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Visakhapatnam.
