Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold is set to leave the Premier League club by the end of the year as new ownership takes up a significant stake. The development surfaces as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos Sport nears confirmation of its acquisition of a 25 per cent stake in Man United. Arnold was appointed for the top job in January 2022.

Replacing Arnold, General counsel and board director Patrick Stewart is set to be named interim CEO, as per Sky News. A further announcement regarding Ratcliffe’s investment will be made in due course but Richard Arnold's exit is a sign that the 71-year-old has started his work in Manchester.
Talking about Radcliffe's investment, the British businessman is set to put in £1.4bn into the club with an additional £245m in upgrading Old Trafford and training ground. Man United fans are hoping for an announcement before the January transfer window as they expect Ratcliffe to make his mark on the club.

Former PSG and Juventus chief Jean-Claude Blanc is under consideration to replace Arnold as per The Athletic. Similarly, Ratcliffe is expected to bring in former British Cycling guru Sir Dave Brailsford to boost football operations at United. If the appointment is made football director John Murtough and director of football operations David Harrison could also leave their jobs.
