Ahead of this fixture, Rashford reported ill at training but media reports revealed that the forward was partying in Northern Ireland over the last week.

Rashford was dropped from the squad and manager Erik ten Hag revealed that Marcus Rashford was ill and the club will work on the issue internally. Since then media reports claim that Manchester United are unhappy with Rashford's off-field antics and is slated to ensure a heavy fine on him.

As reported by the Sun, Marcus Rashford was fined two weeks' wages worth £650,000. Further, the report claimed that Rashford's future at the club and in the England squad are now also in doubt. When Rashford arrived at Carrington on January 29, his brother and agent Dwaine Maynard had talks with manager Erik ten Hag regarding the incident.

Addressing the issue, Manchester United released a statement that the club have dealt with an "internal disciplinary". Rashford is set to be available for selection for Manchester United's away game at Molineux against the Wolves.
The club statement also confirmed that the England international has taken responsibility for his antics. The statement said, "Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed."
