The ex-girlfriend of Manchester United winger Antony has accused him of domestic abuse, threatening behaviour, and bodily harm. A DJ and influencer, Cavallin, reported Antony to the police in Sao Paulo earlier this month, alleging that he had repeatedly attacked her while she was carrying their son in her womb.
The Brazilian news outlet UOL claims that during their relationship in 2022, Antony subjected Cavallin to threats, intimidation, and physical assaults. UOL had access to images, recordings, chats, and witness statements. The bones of Gabriela's fingers were damaged, as seen in one of the investigation's videos.
Cavallin provided additional information regarding the alleged abuse in a Report TV interview. She said Antony was "an extremely aggressive and impatient person" and compared her time with him to "private captivity." She revealed Antony stole her passport, destroyed her bag and phone, and stopped her from leaving the residence. She added that he headbutted her, grabbed her by the hair, threw water on her, and kicked her, leaving her with a cut.
She added that Antony had dislodged her breast implants, which required surgery and 40 stitches to fix. When she was 17 weeks pregnant, she said that he abused her and threatened that their unborn son would "die" if she left him.
In a statement on Instagram, Antony said he had been "falsely accused" by his ex-partner and refuted the accusations . He stated that he had provided a statement to the police station where the inquiry was being conducted and that he believed the truth would eventually come to light.
In 2022, Antony moved from Ajax to Manchester United for a rumoured £35 million transfer fee. In his first 48 games for the team, he has eight goals. He has also played 16 times for Brazil's senior team, assisting twice and scoring twice.
