England is all set to travel to Pakistan to complete the Test leg of their tour. Although the Three Lions clinched the seven-match T20I series 4-3 against the Men in Green, the Babar Azam-led side will aim to put their best foot forward in the upcoming Test tour.

However, both teams are coming after playing the T20 World Cup 2022 final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Although the Asian side couldn’t carry on their semifinal win in the final against the Jos Buttler-led side as they lost the game by 5 wickets.

While the two sides once again aim to play, England has suffered a massive blow. Their pace spearhead Mark Wood is likely to miss the opening game of the three-match of the Test series.

Wood suffered a hip injury during England’s T20 World Cup campaign in Australia, forcing him to miss the semifinal & final game against India & Pakistan respectively. Although reports of his rehabilitation progress well, it is unlikely that the pacer will be fit to appear in the first Test, starting December 1.

“From all reports, Woody’s coming on nicely and we’ll see how he is when he gets out here”, Ben Stokes was quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

England will travel to Pakistan on Sunday (27 November) to play a historic series after 17-year hiatus. While the first Test will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from December 1, 2022, the second (starting December 9) and third (starting December 17) will be played in Multan & Karachi respectively.
