Barcelona stars Dani Olmo and Pau Victor have been granted temporary registration to play for the Catalan giants by the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), the Spanish national sports council. These two players were registered for the first half of the season after being signed by Barcelona this summer, and it’s because of the inability of the club to meet the wage cap restriction, i.e., the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules of the La Liga.

Notably, as per the CSD, both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor should be allowed to be a part of the Barcelona’s playing squads until there is a definitive ruling in their case against La Liga and the Real Federacion Española de Futbol (RFEF), the Spanish football federation. After these two organisations rejected the request of Barcelona to register the players, the CSD gave the decision in favour of the club to play them for a short term following an appeal made to them.

Not only I'm happy, also they are happy: Barcelona manager Hansi Flick

Olmo and Victor weren’t part of the Barcelona squad for their 2-0 win over Athletic Club in the Supercopa de Espana aka the Spanish Super Cup semi-final yesterday at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Moreover, La Liga have disagreed with the decision of CSD to let the two Barcelona players continue to be a part of the set up, and they are considering appropriate appeals against it.

Hansi Flick, the manager of Barcelona, was happy for both his players and the rest of the team following the CSD’s decision. He was quoted as saying, as per ESPN, “I am really happy for these two guys, but I am also happy for the whole team. After the information, you can see what happens in the bus, it was good. I think the whole club is very happy for this decision, for this right decision.”

"[Olmo and Victor] are happy. Not only I'm happy, also they are happy. It was a good signal for us before the match because everyone wants to show also that we are a team and we win also for them,” Flick added.
