The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have several fitness concerns in their camp seeing the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 just round the corner. With LSG kickstarting their campaign on Monday, March 24 against Delhi Capitals (DC), the Indian pace trio including of Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan are still waiting for a clearance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
But on Tuesday, March 18, the LSG received a sigh of relief as pace sensation and find of the last edition, Mayank Yadav resumed bowling at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. It is to be noted that Yadav was retained by the franchise ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 11 Crore.

This comes as a boost for the Lucknow-based franchise after Mohsin Khan was seen in practice but was missing the practice matches, indictating his ongoing recovery. But with Yadav resuming bowling in full swing at NCA, it comes as a boost for the Lucknow side, who are grappling with pacers' fitness concerns.
However, the 22-year-old return timeline still remains unclear, he is anticipated to join the side by April 11 or 12. If it is so, he is set to miss LSG’s first seven matches of the season, including clashes against DC, Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Apart from him, Avesh Khan is also rehabilitating at the NCA currently whereas Akash Deep is missing from the camp preceding the opening fixture, scheduled for March 24. Although, Akash Deep hasn’t joined the LSG practice so far, he was spotted at the preparatory camp a month ago. With silence of the fitness of several players, Shardul Thakur was also spotted practicing with LSG on Sunday after going unsold at the mega auction in November 2024.
