MS Dhoni will be seen in action again for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in match eight of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 28. Prior to the vital game, Dhoni appeared in an interview from Star Sports and thanked fans for support. The 43-year-old also revealed how his supporters’ powered him to take his career ahead smoothly throughout the years. Dhoni plays a pivotal role in the Yellow Army despite relinquishing captaincy in 2023.
“It’s a very good feeling and I always said you know, it’s a big thank you from the fans’ side. That’s what I believe, you know like, whatever last few years I will be playing you know, it’s a way of, you know, they are saying that thank you very much for whatever you have done and it’s amazing especially when you play a sport, what you want is the appreciation of the fans, and you know when it comes to cricket, India is the place to play, you know being part of the Indian cricket team is one of the biggest things,” said Dhoni while speaking on fans’ unprecedented support towards him.
He also added, “I am not playing international cricket so IPL is the next big thing that can happen. You know, I don’t get goosebumps but it's a kind of feeling whenever you walk in everybody’s very excited, they’re waiting for you, they want you to do well even at times when you’re playing against the team they want you to win, they want you to perform, contribute a bit whatever it may be, so yeah, it’s an amazing feeling.”
CSK will look to dominate RCB at home in IPL 2025 clash
CSK will endeavour to bring down RCB at the Chepauk Stadium. Bengaluru have landed in Chennai after winning the opening game in a dominant style against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic Eden Gardens on March 22. Chasing 175 runs, Bengaluru batters outclassed bowlers to complete the chase in just 16.2 overs.
Chennai will want their formidable spin-bowling attack to put a bridle on RCB’s strong batting unit. Noor Ahmad along with veterans Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will look to deliver efficient bowling numbers to the side. In CSK’s four-wicket win against Mumbai on March 23, Noor wreaked havoc on batters and bagged 4/18 figures, which is his best IPL performance. His stunning bowling also made him the player of the match award winner.
