Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Amol Kale, who is an entrepreneur, industrialist, and angel investor, passed away on Monday due to a cardiac arrest in the United States of America. Amol attended Team India's T20 World Cup 2024 Group A clash against Pakistan on Sunday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
During India's thrilling 6-run victory over Pakistan, the MCA President was in the stands along with MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat.
Apart from being the MCA President, Kale was a trustee in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. In October 2022, Kale defeated 1983 World Cup champion Sandeep Patil in a close battle to be elected as the MCA President.
Additionally, Kale was also a co-promoter of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), which is a tennis ball T10 tournament, alongside Sachin Tendulkar BCCI Treasurer Amol Shelkar. Under his presidency, Mumbai won the Ranji Trophy 2024 while he played a huge role in the MCA's decision to increase Mumbai’s senior men’s match fees twice, starting the forthcoming season.
