Pavan Kampelli, also known as 'Mr. Tomboy,' brought pride to India by winning the bronze medal in eFootball at the Asian Esports Games 2024 held in Bangkok, Thailand. Representing India, Mr. Tomboy showcased his exceptional skills to secure the first medal for India in the competition. Thailand’s TXRO won the gold medal, and Malaysia’s Minbappe took the silver. Mr. Tomboy secured bronze by defeating Laos’ Nine_Lek.96 with a 2-1 scoreline. However, he lost the silver medal match to Thailand’s TXRO, ending with a 2-0 defeat.

In the double-bracket elimination format, Mr. Tomboy started strong but lost to TXRO in the upper bracket by 2-1. He then moved to the lower bracket, where he defeated Indonesia’s INA_ASGARD and Syria’s mizo_dh with identical 2-1 scores in best-of-three matches. Continuing his winning streak, he beat Nine_Lek.96 to secure the bronze. However, his campaign ended with a tough loss to TXRO in the Lower Bracket Final.

This is India’s first and only medal at the Asian Esports Games 2024. Mr. Tomboy’s incredible performance has inspired esports fans across the country. India is rapidly growing in Esports and this achievement of Mr. Tomboy will inspire many aspiring esports athletes of India. 

Currently, he is a part of the popular Indian esports organization Godlike Esports. He won the WAVES Esports Championship 2025 in eFootball to qualify for the Asian Esports Games 2024 and made India proud by securing the bronze medal.
