The NBA In-Season Tournament is a brand-new yearly competition that will feature all 30 NBA teams competing for the NBA Cup. There will be 67 games in the competition, all of which will affect a team's regular-season record. The National Basketball Association disclosed on Saturday the groupings and format for its upcoming in-season competition. Starting on November 3 with group play, the new yearly competition will continue until December 9 with the final game.
The group stage will feature all 30 NBA teams, with each team split into three groups of five teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences. According to the NBA, each team's group was chosen at random based on its win-loss statistics from the regular season in 2022–23.
