In the build-up to their upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024, a video of the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, Pat Cummins, has gone viral wherein he talks about not trying to outsmart MS Dhoni. The Australian also spoke about how his main job as SRH captain is to get the best out of his players.
Notably, at the current stage of the IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad are well placed in the third position on the points table with five wins and three losses in their eight matches. In the reverse fixture against CSK at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH emerged victorious by six wickets, chasing down a target of 166 runs with 11 balls to spare.
Before Sunrisers Hyderabad took to the field against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Star Sports posted a video on their official X account of the visiting captain Pat Cummins. He talked about the opposing player MS Dhoni while detailing his responsibility in the leadership role for SRH and said, “My main job as a captain is to get the best out of our guys, so obviously, you look at the opposition little bit and see what they're doing, but I don't think I'm gonna try and outsmart someone like MSD, you just try and play your best, try to bring the best out of the guys, and hopefully it works.”

There's always huge expectation; we know how passionate the fans are, and it's great to see them turn up to the ground and it's packed out. So nothing new, we're going to be trying our best; T20s, it's a hard format, you have some amazing wins and also have some tough losses, which I’m sure we will have this season, but we're giving it our best shot and desperately trying to win this IPL,” Pat Cummins added.
Moreover, Chennai Super Kings need a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad to get their IPL 2024 campaign back on track after two consecutive losses against Lucknow Super Giants.
