South Africa are taking on Bangladesh in Match 23 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The side are currently sitting at the third place in the points table, having won three out of their four matches so far. While the side has been playing some good cricket, having scored the highest in ODIs in the current edition of the CWC.

But as they took the field against Bangladesh, the side once again walked without regular skipper Temba Bavuma. While he missed the match against England due to illness, he has reportedly failed to regain full fitness with Aiden Markram taking over the captaincy once again.
Additionally, Markram at the toss revealed that Lungi Ngidi is also out of the XI with a niggle with Lizaad Williams replacing the star bowler.
Shakib returns after missing match against India
On the other hand, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan returned to the side after missing the crucial game against India on Thursday, October 19. When asked on the fitness at the toss by Mark Nicholas, Shakib said, “Fully fit. Hridoy is not playing, I come in the team for him.”
