Kylian Mbappe moved to Real Madrid in July 2024 from Paris Saint-Germain after what was a seemingly never-ending and long transfer saga. The 26-year-old forward moved to the Spanish capital on a free transfer which seemed like a steal-deal for a player of his quality. Despite all the efforts from the club’s management and club President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Mbappe chose to move to the club where his childhood idol Cristiano Ronaldo previously played.

Post this there have always been rumours about potential bad relations between the forward and his ex-club’s President but Mbappe recently spoke out about this. He said, “Of course I’d shake hands with Nasser if we meet PSG in the UCL. I know how to be grateful for what people give me in life.”

Mbappe said this referring to a potential UCL semi-final between the two clubs as they are placed within the same bracket in the European competition. Real Madrid will play Arsenal, while PSG will play Aston Villa in the quarter-finals and a respective win for both these clubs could mean a meeting between Mbappe’s current and former club.

Mbappe called back into French national team

Mbappe, who had a rather slow start to life at Real Madrid has really grown into the team and has started performing brilliantly. In just his first season, he already has scored 31 goals in all competitions and is the second highest goal-scorer in LaLiga, only behind Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski. The French forward has also been recently called up to the national team for the upcoming international matches.

The World Cup winner was surprisingly left out from the national team for four games in the Nations League in this season after France crashed out of the semi-finals of the Euro 2024. This decision taken by the national team manager Didier Deschamps surprised football fans across the world considering the sheer quality of Kylian Mbappe. However the Real Madrid number nine has recently been called back into the national team and will likely feature against Croatia on 21st March.
