West Indies' own Brian Lara has been among the greatest batters to ever play cricket in the entire world. With over 11,000 runs and 50 plus average, Lara was a dangerous batter in Test cricket in the 1990s and early 2000s. The left-hander scored 34 centuries in his Test career, and is the only batter to score 400 runs in a Test innings. The first of Lara’s 34 Test centuries came while playing Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 5, 1993.

Making his international debut in December 1990, Brian Lara took more than two years to score his first Test ton. However, it turned out to be a special knock as Lara converted his first Test hundred into a big double ton, scoring 277 runs against Australia in Sydney in 1993. After this knock, Lara went on to score multiple big hundreds in his Test career of 131 matches.
