India have been an invincible side at home in Test cricket in the last decade or so. After losing to England in home conditions in a Test series in 2012, India haven’t lost any since. The dominance by the Indian cricket team in home Tests reached its crescendo when they host South Africa  for a three-match Test series in 2019. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, India didn’t give the Proteas a chance in any of the three matches, and completed a 3-0 whitewash against them, to register their 11th consecutive Test series at home.

Following one-sided victories in the first two Test matches, India played against South Africa in the third Test at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi from October 19 to 23, 2019. The Indian cricket team showcased their dominance in the Ranchi Test, wrapping up the match in the first session on day four, winning  by a huge margin of an innings and 202 runs, to secure the 3-0 series victory.
