Rowing has been part of the Summer Games since 1900. While it was only the men’s rowing that featured then, but was soon joined by women’s rowing events from 1976 Olympics in Montreal. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, over 500 athletes will compete in 14 events from July 27 till August 3.

Rowing will see a maximum of 502 rowers compete across 14 events at the Paris 2024. The events will run from July 27 till August 3 in six lanes over a straight 2000m course at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium. The venue is located on the outskirts of eastern Paris.
The game has over 10 medals, seven in men and likewise in women’s. Moreover, the medal events will be held on the last four days of the event.
How does rowing works in Olympics?
Rowing has two categories at the Summer Games - sweep and sculling. While in sweep, each competitor uses a single oar, whereas in sculling, rowers have two oars. Moreover, boat crews range from single seater to teams of eight, and also includes two lightweight events.
