In the recent IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT), a quote shared by commentator Harsha Bhogle and Gujarat Titans' assistant coach Parthiv Patel was going viral on social media. The supposed conversation made it sound as if Bhogle said, "MI misses Bumrah," to which Patel had reacted by smiling, replying, "Not Bumrah, but Mumbai Indians miss Captain Rohit Sharma." Such a conversation also indicated that MI was missing the presence of their captain, Rohit Sharma.

But Parthiv Patel himself has denied it publicly. Patel took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle and rejected the misinformation firmly, saying, "I never said that." Patel also expressed his disappointment over such lies and commented, "Come on guys. I've got some nice collabs and content, if you want impressions. Why lie about me?" The scenario of the newly appointed MI captain Hardik Pandya in the last season had caused a lot of uproar and drama within the tournament and its fans last year.

Mumbai Indians remain winless after defeat to Gujarat Titans

In the IPL 2025 match held on March 29 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a 36-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI). Opting to bat first, GT posted a total of 196/8 in their 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan led the scoring with a 63 off 41 balls, supported by Jos Buttler's 39 from 24 deliveries. Contributions from M. Shahrukh Khan and Sherfane Rutherford in the latter stages bolstered the innings. MI's bowlers found it challenging to contain the runs, particularly during the final overs.

In response, MI managed 160/6 in their 20 overs, falling short by 36 runs. Despite a promising start, the batting lineup couldn't sustain the required momentum. Suryakumar Yadav was the notable performer, but his efforts weren't sufficient to chase down the target. Prasidh Krishna stood out with figures of 2/18, effectively derailing MI's chase and picking up the POTM award. This defeat marks MI's second consecutive loss in the tournament, placing them ninth in the 10-team league.
