The Phoenix Suns had an average 2022-23 season as they bowed out against the champion side Denver Nuggets in the first playoff game after finishing fourth in the regular season. Notably, they came into the season after they had reached the NBA Finals last season for the first time since 1993. The Suns as per the latest update, have made a stunning move to boost their championship hopes as they have acquired three-time All-Star guard Bradley Beal from the W a shington Wizards with the deal expected to include Chris Paul, Landry Shamet.

According to multiple reports, the Suns are also going to trade a package of future second-round picks, and multiple pick swaps to the Wizards in exchange for Beal, who waived his no-trade clause to join the Suns. The trade was first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Sunday evening and confirmed by Beal's agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports.

"This was an extremely complicated process with so many different hurdles to get through and Ted Leonsis and Michael Winger were unbelievable partners in making this happen," Bartelstein told ESPN.

Beal will join Booker, Durant, and Deandre Ayton who will make about USD 130 million combined next season. The 29-year-old has spent his ten-year NBA career in Washington after being selected third overall by the Wizards in the 2012 draft. The shooting guard has averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists per game in his career and made the All-NBA Third Team in 2020.

The trade is the second major acquisition for Suns owner Mat Ishbia, who landed Durant for a massive combination of players and first-round draft picks just days after formally taking over the team in February. The Wizards, meanwhile, are expected to reroute Paul in another trade, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
