India D registered a big victory by 257 runs against India B on day four of the fifth match of the Duleep Trophy 2024. The star of the day for India D was Arshdeep Singh as the left-arm pacer took a six-wicket haul, helping his team bundle out India B for just 115 runs while chasing a target of 373 runs. Along with Arshdeep Singh, his teammate Aditya Thakare also bagged four wickets in the fourth innings of the match. On the other hand, India A defeated India C by 132 runs to become champions of the Duleep Trophy 2024.
After taking a lead of 67 runs in the first innings, India D posted a total of 305 runs in the second innings with Ricky Bhui coming with a century in the second consecutive match. Apart from that, Shreyas Iyer also scored 50 runs off 40 balls, India D took a lead of 372 runs against India B. After that, Arshdeep Singh and Aditya Thakare took no time in wrapping up the innings of India B to register a big victory with the former picking up wickets of Abhimanyu Easwaran, Suyash Pradhudessai, and Suryakumar Yadav in his spell apart from the three tailenders.
India A clinch Duleep Trophy 2024 with victory against India C
Talking about the match six of the Duleep Trophy, India A defeated India C by 132 runs on day four to become champions of the Duleep Trophy 2024. Sai Sudharsan tried to take India C closer to the target of 350 runs with a fighting century but didn’t get much support from that other end, India C were bowled out for 217 runs in the second innings. Shashwat Rawat was adjudged player of the match with 124 runs in the first innings and a half-century in the second innings.
After a lead of 63 runs in the first innings, India A declared their second innings on 286/8 with Riyan Parag top scoring with 73(101) runs hitting five fours and a maximum. He got a support from Shashwat Rawat who scored 53(67) runs. After that, Tanush Kotian and Prasidh Krishan bagged three-three wickets each as India A bowled India C out for 217 runs in the fourth innings. Sai Sudharsan played a fighting knock of 111(206) with 12 fours but couldn’t take his team down the line.
