Punjab batter Harpreet Brar played one of the best knocks of his career as he helped his side level score with rivals Mizoram in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. During the game, Punjab needed 24 runs to win, and Brar ended up scoring 23 runs including a wide to help the side level the score, and end the game in a tie. In the match, Manipur posted a total of 176 runs on the board while batting first.

In the run chase, Punjab began their innings on a poor note, and lost skipper Abhishek Sharma early on. Punjab were on the course of a massive defeat as they required 24 runs in the final four balls to win the game. However, it was Brar who changed the tide in their favour. During his innings, Brar smashed a four off the second ball of the over, and it was followed with a six, a wide, and later he hit two sixes off the last two balls to level the score.
