In the second game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Ishan Kishan looked ruthless for the former against bowlers and played his best innings of the league. Riding on his unbeaten 106 off just 47, the Orange Army concluded their batting innings on 286/6, which has gone into the record books as the second best team score in the distinguished league. After opener Abhishek Sharma’s departure in the fourth over, Kishan came at the crease and supported Travis Head to build an 85-run stand off just 38 deliveries.
However, Head also departed after hitting a brisk 67 off 31 but Kishan emerged as a headache for the Royals and played some elegant strokes from his bat. The southpaw completed his maiden IPL ton off just 45 balls and became the third batter to hit the fastest century for SRH. Kishan received support from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klassen as well. Reddy chipped in with a swift 30 off 15 while Klaasen also contributed with his 34 off 14 to help SRH post their second best team total on the board.

Replying to the Sunrisers’ gigantic total, RR lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag early but Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel displayed fighting spirit to help their team fans interested in the game. Samson came into the game as Impact Player (IP) and clobbered 66 runs off just 37 balls. Pacer Harshal Patel concluded the 30-year-old’s innings in the 14th over.
A couple of balls later, Jurel also followed Samson to the dugout after bringing his innings to an end, hitting phenomenal 70 runs off 35 deliveries. Adam Zampa got Jurel caught at the hands of Kishan at the deep long-on. In the end, RR fell 44 runs short and delivered two crucial points to the home team.
