Hobart Hurricanes' Lizelle Lee achieved the record for the highest individual score in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) with her knock against Perth Scorchers at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday, November 10. The right-hander smashed an unbeaten 150 runs off just 75 balls as Hobart Hurricanes defeated Perth Scorchers by 72 runs, to register their third win in the ongoing WBBL 2024. 

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Hobart Hurricanes had a poor start as they lost two wickets for just 16 runs in 2.5 overs. After that, Lizelle Lee took charge of the innings, and put up a partnership of 114 runs with skipper Elyse Villani for the third wicket, out of which Villani scored just 14 runs off 19 balls with two boundaries. After that, Lee shared an unbeaten 73 runs partnership with Heather Graham (23* off 17) as Hobart Hurricanes posted a total of 203/3 in their 20 overs. 

Lizelle Lee surpassed Grace Harris to smash highest individual score in WBBL

Lizelle Lee smashed 12 fours and as many sixes during her 150-run knock in a match against Perth Scorchers. With this, she also broke the record of smashing the highest individual score in the WBBL history, surpassing Grace Harris’ 136* runs during the Women’s Big Bash League 2023. Hobart Hurricanes also posted their second highest total in the WBBL. 

Chasing a big target of 204 runs, Perth Scorchers were bowled out for just 131 runs in 19.3 overs as Hobart Hurricanes won the match by 72 runs. Chloe Ainsworth turned out to be top scorer for Perth with her 41(27) runs. For Hobart Hurricanes, Heather Graham took three wickets, Molly Strano and Lauren Smith scalped two wickets each, while Kathryn Brice put one in her bag.
