Indian cricketer Sanju Samson notched up his 11th first-class hundred on day two of the Duleep Trophy 2024 clash for India D against India B, at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur. The hundred from Sanju Samson came at better than a run-a-ball, to help India D reach 349-run total in 87.3 overs in their first innings, which proved to be quite a formidable one after they managed to reduce India B on 210/6 at the close of play on day two.

The majority of the runs during Sanju Samson’s hundred came on the first day, which had ended with him being on 89, with the India D score reading 306/5 in 77 overs. On the second morning, the Kerala-born cricketer began on his merry way despite losing his partner Saransh Jain in the first over, to notch up his 11th FC hundred in no time, but shortly after, he was dismissed for 106 off 101 with 12 fours and three maximums.

Navdeep Saini took the vital wicket of Sanju Samson with Nitish Kumar Reddy taking the catch in the field, and a few overs later, India D’s innings came to a close on 349 runs within the first 11 overs of play on day two of the Duleep Trophy 2024 match. The pick of the bowlers for India B were Navdeep Saini and Rahul Chahar, who took five and three wickets each, but conceded runs at an economy of four and more.

In their first innings, India B captain Abhimanyu Easwaran batted exceptionally well to score his 25th hundred in first-class cricket despite losing first five wickets for 100 runs. He stitched together a sixth wicket stand of 105 runs with Washington Sundar before getting dismissed by Aditya Thakare, caught by Sanju Samson behind the stumps for 116 off 170 with 13 fours and one maximum.

India B are still trailing India D by 139 runs on the first innings with only four wickets in hand, including Washington Sundar, who is not out on 39 off 89 at the close of play on day two of the Duleep Trophy 2024 clash.
