Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs is the first-ever player to hit six sixes in an over in international cricket. The right-hander achieved the milestone during the 2007 ODI World Cup fixture against Netherlands in Basseterre on March 16, 2007. Gibbs smashed six sixes in the 30th over of the South African innings by Daan van Bunge.
Yuvraj Singh (India)
After Herschelle Gibbs’ record of six sixes in an over during the 2007 ODI World Cup, India’s Yuvraj Singh went on to repeat the same in the shortest format during the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. After a heated conversation with Andrew Flintoff during a league stage match against England in Durban on September 19, 2007, Yuvraj punished Stuart Broad by smashing the fast bowler for six sixes in the 19th over of the India innings.
Kieron Pollard (West Indies)
After 14 years of Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh’s heroics, Kieron Pollard finally became the third player to hit six sixes in an over during a T20I against Sri Lanka in Antigua on March 3, 2021. The right-hander smashed six consecutive sixes in the sixth over of the innings, which was bowled by Akila Dananjaya.
Jaskaran Malhotra (USA)
Another name in the list comes from tan associate cricket nation. Jaskaran Malhotra from United States smashed six sixes in an over against Gaudi Toka in an ODI match against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in Al Amerat on September 9, 2021.
Dipendra Singh (Nepal)
During the ACC Men’s T20I match of Premiere Cup Clash against Qatar on April 12, 2024, Nepal’s Dipendra Singh smashed six sixes in an over.
