Pokémon UNITE is a strategic team battle game that features the iconic Pokémon characters in 5v5 matches. The game was released in July 2021 for Nintendo Switch and in September 2021 for mobile devices, and has quickly gained popularity among fans of the franchise and the genre. In December 2021, the Pokémon Company announced the Pokémon UNITE Championship Series 2023, a global competitive circuit that will culminate in the Pokémon UNITE World Championship 2023 in Yokohama, Japan.

The Pokémon UNITE Championship 2023 consists of the best teams from six regional zones: Brazil, Europe, Latin America - North, Latin America - South, North America, and Oceania. The teams with the most CP within their regional zone at the end of the qualification season earned an invitation to the World Championship. Additionally, the team that won the Regional Finals in each region also earned an invite to the World Championship.

What is the format for the Pokemon UNITE World Championship 2023?
The tournament will have two stages:

Group Stage:
There will be 31 teams in the group stage. There will be seven groups with four teams each and one group with three teams. This stage will follow the single round-robin bracket format. All matches played in this stage will be best-of-3 series. In the end, only the top team from each group will qualify for the Playoffs.

Playoffs Stage:
This stage will follow a double-elimination format. All matches in this stage will be best-of-3 series except the finals. The Grand Finals will be played in a best-of-5 series with a bracket reset.
