Prasidh Krishna, the right-arm fast bowler, has been looked upon as a strong contender for the Asia Cup squad for Team India later this year, by the former Indian cricketer Saba Karim on commentary with JioCinema. The 27-year-old is currently making his return to for India on T20I debut against Ireland in Dublin, after a year on the sidelines from the national team.
Notably, on August 18, Friday, during the first T20I match of his international career, Prasidh Krishna picked up the first wicket, scalping for Harry Tector in the second over of his spell. The last ball of the fifth over from the fast bowler was a fierce bouncer, which the batter tried to ramp in the third man region, but he only managed to find Tilak Varma at short third, who took a simple catch.

On the third ball of his third and Team India’s seventh over, Prasidh Krishna bowled a back of a length delivery, which seamed in from off stump. The batter on strike, George Dockrell tried to force the issue, but he could only provide catching practice at cover region to Ruturaj Gaikwad to reduce the hosts to 5-31.
During his commentary stint with JioCinema on Ireland’s batting innings, Saba Karim was impressed with how Prasidh Krishna shaped up on his return to Indian colours. The 55-year-old went on to talk about his prospects about the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and said, “Prasidh Krishna to be a strong contender for India's Asia Cup squad.”
At the end of his bowling spell, Prasidh Krishna registered figures of 2-32 in his four overs. Ravi Bishnoi and the stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah were the pick of the bowlers for Team India, taking two wickets each at an economy of six or less. But still, they couldn’t stop Ireland from posting a respectable total of 139/7 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to Barry McCarthy’s fifty at number eight in the batting order.
