Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have once again stamped their authority on French football, clinching the 2024–25 Ligue 1 title with six games to spare. A narrow but decisive 1-0 victory over Angers at Parc des Princes on April 5, 2025, sealed their 13th French championship and their fourth consecutive title win. The match-winning moment came in the 55th minute, when 19-year-old rising star Desire Doue connected perfectly with a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to volley home the only goal of the match.
Despite dominating proceedings and creating multiple chances, PSG were unable to extend their lead, but their defensive solidity ensured they secured the crucial three points. Under the guidance of head coach Luis Enrique, PSG have been nothing short of unstoppable this season. The Parisian giants remain unbeaten in the league, with an impressive record of 23 wins and 5 draws from 28 matches. They sit comfortably at the top of the table, 24 points clear of second-placed AS Monaco, who no longer have a mathematical chance of catching up.
All eyes on the upcoming Champions League fixture for PSG
Ousmane Dembele has been a standout performer for PSG this season, leading the team’s scoring charts with 21 league goals. He has been ably supported by the likes of Kvaratskhelia, whose creativity has been pivotal, and young talents like Doue, who are making their mark on the big stage. PSG's defensive unit has also been rock solid, contributing significantly to their unbeaten run. This title further cements PSG's dominance in French football, having now won 11 of the last 13 Ligue 1 titles.
Looking ahead, PSG will now turn their attention to European glory. With their Champions League quarter-final clash against Aston Villa on the horizon, the Parisian side will hope to carry their domestic form onto the continental stage and finally capture the elusive European crown.
