The tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to etch history for several different reasons. While it will be the final season with six teams in the league, it is for the first time that the tournament is set to host its playoffs outside of Pakistan in 2025.
The premier domestic T20 tournament of Pakistan, will move to an eight-team event after the tenth edition and this change is likely to be implemented from 2026. This development was communicated through an official press release, designating that the 2025 season will be “last six-team event”.
PCB exploring possibility of hosting PSL playoffs and final in the UK
With the Champions Trophy 2025 set to be held in Pakistan in February-March window, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking to host the PSL 2025 to April - May. If so happens, the tournament is likely to coincide with the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the wake of this, according to ESPNcricinfo is also exploring possibilities to move the knockout stage outside of Pakistan. The reports also reveals that the United Kingdom is likely to host the final stage.
