While a lot of marriages have been taking place during the lockdown in India, it looks like cricketers are also feeling this to be the right time of the year to tie knots. Just a few days after the wedding of Rajasthan Royals player Shivam Dube, another Indian all-rounder has joined him in the list of married cricketers. Uttar Pradesh cricketer Saurabh Kumar is the player who has tied knots with his girlfriend Neha Saby in a private ceremony in Ghaziabad.
The 28-year-old announced the news through an adorable social media post on Instagram where he also posted pictures from the wedding. The cricketer shared a heartwarming caption where he stated, "Can’t believe we have been a soulmates from last 8 years, with you by my life is so beautiful. It feels so wonderful to love someone for this long and get married to that same special one. You are truly a blessing from god. Thankyou for being my perfect one (sic)."
Cricketer fraternity wishes Saurabh on his special day
Having played for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket for so many years, Saurabh Kumar received a lot of messages from his teammates on his special day. Kuldeep Yadav, Shivam Mavi, Rinku Kumar and Ankit Rajpoot were the few players who left a congratulatory message on Saurabh's Instagram post. Some of his Punjab Kings' teammates like Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Hooda and many others also gave their blessings to the newly wedded couple.
Saurabh Kumar was signed by Punjab Kings in IPL 2021 auction
The bowling all-rounder, who bowls slow left-arm orthodox, was signed by Punjab Kings for INR 20 Lakh in the IPL 2021 auction held earlier this year. Although Saurabh Kumar did not get a chance to showcase his potential in the first half of IPL 2021, he might get an opportunity to feature in the playing XI in the remainder of the season in UAE, with a few overseas players expected to be unavailable.
Kumar is a valuable and a utility cricketer, considering his ability to contribute with both bat and ball. He emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Uttar Pradesh in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, with 23 wickets to his name in 4 matches. Having also been a part of Rising Pune Supergiants' squad in 2017, Saurabh would be hoping that the lady luck in his life could help him get his IPL debut this year which he has been waiting for such a long time.
