The final of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 is being played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium between Kerala and Vidarbha currently. Kerala started day three with a score of 131/3 from 39 overs with Aditya Sarwate and captain Sachin Baby on the crease, in pursuit of Vidarbha's first innings score of 379 runs. Soon after in the 56th over, Aditya Sarwate was dismissed for 79 runs, while skipper Sachin was still batting steadily.
After batting patiently till the 107th over, the Kerala captain was dismissed for 98 runs by Parth Rekhade, missing out narrowly on what could have been his 15th century in first-class cricket; and reducing his side to 324/7. Soon after the Kerala team lost its footing and were all-out with a final score of 342 in 125 overs, conceding the all-important first innings lead to Vidarbha.

Earlier, Kerala won the toss on day one and chose to bowl first. Vidarbha was able to put up a good score of 379 on the scoreboard with batters Danish Malewar and Karun Nair scoring 153 and 86 respectively. Kerala started the chase on day two with Aditya Sarwate and Ahammed Imran putting up a solid partnership of 93 off 178 deliveries. Sachin Baby joined the party later and created another impressive partnership with Sarwate of 63 runs. After both of them were dismissed, Kerala lost their remaining batters cheaply as they were bundled out, still trailing Vidarbha by 37 runs at stumps on day three.
Vidarbha will now kick off proceedings on day four with the bat, hoping to put up a good total on the scoreboard for their opponents to chase down. Two more days still remain for both these teams to fight for what is the biggest prize in first-class cricket in India.
