Qlan, a social networking app that connects gamers and esports fans, has raised USD 200,000 which converts roughly to a total of INR 1.7 Crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Marwah Sports, CIIE.CO and Faad Network. The startup plans to use the funds to grow its user base, enhance its features and strengthen the team.
Qlan was launched in January 2023 and has over 100,000 downloads across various platforms. It claims to have over 50,000 active users from Indian, Central Asia, North & South Africa and the Middle East and North African regions. The app allows users to create profiles, discover games and events, chat with other gamers, watch live streams and create content.
Sagar Nair, Co-founder and CEO of Qlan, claimed that the pre-seed round is a reflection of both Qlan's potential and the expanding worldwide gaming and esports market. According to him, the firm wants to expand its platform, enhance user experience, and better comprehend the demands of its community.
The investors also expressed their confidence in Qlan and its vision. The top executives from all the three investing companies showered praise on Qlan and its future.

According to SkyQuest Technology's research, the global esports market is expected to grow from USD 1.08 billion in 2021 to USD 2.8 billion by 2028 at a CAGR of 14.50 per cent.
