Afghanistan bowler Rashid Khan got a rousing welcome at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, formerly known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, when he stepped onto the field to bat. Afghanistan team, led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, locked horns with reigning champions England on October 15, Sunday, in India's national capital city, New Delhi. England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Afghanistan, who haven't been able to open their win account in the ongoing season of the marquee tournament, were looking forward to putting their best foot forward during the match. However, the Three Lions showed no mercy upon their opponents and displayed their lethal bowling tactics to take some early wickets.

In the beginning of the 37th over, youngster Rashid Khan stepped in for the side after Mohammad Nabi's dismissal and received a rousing welcome from the crowd present at the stadium. The stadium echoed with the chants of 'Rashid... Rashid' to welcome the 25-year-old, who got off the mark with a brilliant boundary to send the spectators into frenzy.

It goes without saying that the young Afghanistan player is one of the most loved foreign players among the Indian crowd. Khan was sent back to the pavilion after his short stay of 23 runs off 22 balls in the 45th over off an Adil Rashid delivery. The team's score was 233 with the loss of seven wickets at that time.
