Real Madrid defeated Borrusia Dortmund 2-0 to win their 15th UCL title, the most in footballing history. With this victory, veteran German midfielder Toni Kroos finished his illustrious career with another UCL title. In the final, full-back Dani Carvajal and Vincius Jr. scored to seal Madrid's 15 UCL title.
Coming back to the kick off, Borussia Dortmund dominated possession as they tore through the Real Madrid with constant attacking testing the returning Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois but failed to convert. Players like Julian Brandt, Karim Adeyemi, Nikolas Fulkrug and more coming agonizingly close to score for Dortmund.
But the Los Blancos held on as they played on the counter and tried creating a few chances of their own towards the end of the first half. After what seemed like one sided half, the Spanish Giants came back in the final 45 minutes as Kroos also threatened the Dortmund gloveman Gregor Kobel.
Similarly, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo took Madrid closer before the veteran full-back Dani Carvajal smashed in a brilliant header at the 74th minute. The Spaniard got a perfect pass from Toni Kross to give Real Madrid a 1-0 lead. With getting on top in the final, the Los Blancos found a new gear as the doubled their lead in just nine minutes as Vini received a perfect assist from Jude Bellingham after Ian Maatsen's mistake to seal the final with a 2-0 margin.
