Real Madrid confirmed the signing of French forward Kylian Mbappé on a free transfer, concluding years-long wait for him to join the Spanish club. Mbappé announced his exit from the defending Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain last month at the end of the season when his contract expired.
Media reports claim that Kylian Mbappé has signed a five-year deal worth €15 million ($16.2m) a year after taxes. The reports also reveal that the negotiations with Madrid since at least February. Talking about the Frenchman's announcement, Real Madrid released a short statement and also confirmed that 25-year-old will be wearing the number 9 jersey, previous worn by fellow French superstar Karim Benzema.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons," the Spanish champions said in a statement.

Kylian Mbappe also took social media to confirmed the move and shared images on social media of himself as a kid in a Real Madrid jersey and those alongside meeting Los Blancos legend Cristiano Ronaldo at the club's Valdebebas training ground.
