Defending La Liga Champions Real Madrid are set to unveil star signing Kylian Mbappe on July 16. Los Blancos acquired the services of the Frenchman on a free transfer after his contract ended with French club Paris Saint Germain. This deal was also the culmination of a transfer saga that went on over the past few years with both parties nearing the transfer multiple times but never managing to complete it.
But on June 3, Real Madrid released a press release confirming the signing of Mbappe as a free agent. The statement said, "Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons."
Real Madrid to unveil Mbappe on July 16 in front of 80,000 fans
After that confirmation, the Spanish club will unveil the Frenchman on Tuesday, July 16, at 10:30 pm IST ( 19:00 CET ) where he will receive the number 9 jersey. The presentation will be at the legendary Santiago Bernabeu with close to 80,000 fans in attendance as per Spanish outlet AS Diaro. Earlier on July 16, Mbappe will also undergo his medical in the afternoon.
As the transfer was announced, Kylian Mbappe took to X and expressed his elation and gratitude after achieving his dream. Mbappé said, “A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas (Madrid fans), and thanks for your unbelievable support. ¡Hala Madrid!”
