Formula One fans would be aware that the engine partner of Red Bull - Honda are about to leave the Formula 1 paddock at the end of the 2021 season. As per the original schedule, Honda were supposed to be in their home country, Japan but as things turned out it didn’t happen likewise. However, the Austrian team led by Christian Horner have not forgotten their engine partners and want to bid them farewell by giving them the highest honor.
Now, during the Turkish Grand Prix 2021 Red Bull will not be seen in their regular black color. Instead, their 2021 challenger, RB16B will be entirely white with red accents in honor of Honda. These colours mark the old livery of the Japanese manufacturer with which they used to be active as a factory team in Formula 1.
Check out the video to know about the livery:
The press release of Red Bull Racing stated that the livery pays homage to Honda's RA 272 car, in which Richie Ginther clinched his first victory for the Honda works team in 1965. The AlphaTauri challenger’s rear wing also reads 'thank you' in Japanese.
Even ace driver Max Verstappen has appreciated and acknowledged the effort shown by the team towards their engine manufacturer. Having put all at risk, Honda have been able to help Red Bull challenge reigning champions Mercedes in the 2021 title battle with all guns blazing.
Having said that the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix is going to be a highly exciting affair. With Lewis Hamilton leading the grid by 2 points, the seven-time world champion could endure a grid penalty if Mercedes opts for a new engine. On the other hand, with the rain coming in play, no fans could be assured of a guaranteed spot on the podium.
