In a viral video on the social media platform X, Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq made a shocking claim about captain Mohammad Rizwan’s certain religious practices in team hotels wherever the national team plays cricket. As per the 29-year-old, who bats left-handed in the Pakistan cricket team, Mohammad Rizwan reportedly arranges for room to perform “Namaz” in the team hotels, while making it clear that non-Muslims in the teams are restricted from entering the space.

Notably, in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Imam-ul-Haq played alongside Mohammad Rizwan one of the three matches against the Indian cricket team, which happened at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, February 23. Pakistan’s campaign in the home tournament ended without a victory as they suffered defeats at the hands of New Zealand and India before their contest against Bangladesh got washed out due to rain.

He restricts non-Muslims from entering Namaz room: Imam on Rizwan

During a candid interview, which was shared online by (@Times AlgebraIND), Imam-ul-Haq spoke about the certain religious practices of Mohammad Rizwan while being a part of the Pakistan cricket team. He was quoted as saying, as per the report from India.com, “For now, I can say Rizzi (Rizwan). He arranges rooms in hotels, gathers everyone for Namaz, spreads white sheets (for prayers), restricts non-Muslims from entering. He also makes WhatsApp groups for Namaz timings.”

Apart from claiming a lot of surprising things about Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq also spoke about how all the senior players in the Pakistan cricket team are “fighting” with each other, as per the aforementioned report. Moreover, with the release of the interview, it will be interesting to see when and if Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan take the field together for the Men in Green next month on their tour to New Zealand.

Pakistan are slated to take on the Blackcaps in a five-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series in March and April before the start of the new season of the PSL.
