Hollywood star and co-owner of Welsh football club Wrexham AFC Ryan Reynolds described his side's promotion to the 3rd Division of English football as the 'Ride of Our Lives' on social media. Wrexham took down Forest Green Rovers 6-0 and confirmed their promotion.
Talking about the clash, the Red Dragons saw Elliot Lee open the scoring before Paul Mullin's double and a Ryan Innis own goal put the hosts in control at half-time. In the second half, Ryan Barnett and Jack Marriott struck after to seal the win.
This is the ride of our lives: Reynolds after Wrexham's promotion
This victory alongside defeats for MK Dons and Barrow saw Phil Parkinson's team reach English football's third tier for the first time since 2004. It is a second successive promotion after last season's National League title win. Celebrating this triumph, Ryan Reynolds posted a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter) for his team and the passionate supporters.
Reynolds shared, "A few years ago if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in North Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney. Congrats to Wrexham and to my co-chairman in crime. Double up the town! This is the ride of our lives."
After this victory, Wrexham is second in League Two, with four points behind leader Stockport, who also clinched promotion. The top three teams are automatically promoted to League One, and fourth-placed MK Dons can no longer catch Wrexham.
