After India B and India C clinched their respective games in the opening round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25, the second round is set to commence from September 12 in Anantapur. The second round of the domestic cricket tournament will be played from September 12 till September 15 at the Rural Development Trust Stadium and ACA ADCA Ground in Anantapur.

Just days ahead of the start, Rinku Singh, who missed to find a place in the Test squad for the opening match against Bangladesh, opened up on featuring in the Duleep Trophy. Singh, who led the Meerut Mavericks in UPT20 League opened up on joining India B squad as he eyes to consolidate his position in the national team across formats. 

Delighted to receive call for Duleep Trophy: Rinku Singh

The young Indian batter communicated of joining Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side for the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25, with Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Yash Dayal being named in the Indian squad for first Test against Bangladesh. Singh, who aims to get a permanent place across formats in the national team in an interaction with TOI said, “My job is to work hard, I am extremely delighted to have received the call for Duleep Trophy.” 

“When the teams were initially announced, I was not selected. I was disheartened because my responsibility is to put in the hard work which I am doing. Today, I feel even more elated as I am here to represent India B in the prestigious Duleep Trophy,” Rinku Singh added.
