Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has taken tall strides in his recovery with the Delhi native facing fast bowling of around 140 kmph. Pant was involved in a horrific car accident while travelling from Delhi to Roorkee on December 30 2022. Driving on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, the India wicketkeeper's vehicle crashed into a divider and caught fire.

As per the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), Pant suffered cuts to his forehead, a torn ligament on his right knee with bruises to his right wrist, ankle and toe. He also had abrasion injuries on his back. Since then, Pant has gradually gotten into cricket-playing shape and has been recovering at BCCI’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
At the NCA, Rishabh Pant has started taking on fast bowling at speeds of 140 kmph, according to RevSportz. The report also addresses that the Delhi Capitals star has been keeping well and will shift his focus on ‘larger and quicker body movements’. A source at NCA, quoted by RevSportz said, “Rishabh has been making a fine recovery.”

“He has started to take on deliveries with speed excess to 140 kmph. We all are delighted with the way he has been crossing every hurdle in his recovery. He is keeping well. His next target will be to focus on larger and quicker body movements, which we aim to achieve in the next couple of months.”
KL Rahul reportedly fit for Asia Cup 2023
Along with Rishabh Pant, fellow Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul has been making significant progress during his recovery from a thigh injury. Rahul got hurt in IPL 2023 in a game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 5 and has since been out of action for the Indian team. In a report by the Times of India, Rahul is set to be fit for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.
The TOI report quoted a reliable source stating, "The coaches and medical experts at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bangalore are satisfied with Rahul's progress/recovery. He will be available for selection for the Asia Cup."
