India's Star Batter Virat Kohli was seen in fine form on day three of the  first Test  versus New Zealand in Bengaluru. He scored his first half century in Test cricket in 2024. But, at the end of third day's play, when Virat Kohli was dismissed by Glenn Phillips, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was shocked and frustrated inside the Indian dressing room, and his reaction went viral on social media.

Earlier, on day three of the Bengaluru Test match, New Zealand took a massive lead of 356 runs on the first innings after bundling out India for just 46 runs in their first innings. In their second innings, India started quite well with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma playing enterprising innings, to give their some hope to potentially wipe off the massive deficit.

Virat Kohli’s ill-timed dismissal left Rohit Sharma disappointed

After Rohit and Yashasvi's dismissals in quick succession,  Virat Kohli, who was batting at number three, struggled to score runs in second innings initally, but as the game progressed, he started playing confidently with some crisp strokes coming from his bat.  Fans were seen supporting him passionately from the stands in M Chinnaswamy Stadium as he scored his 31st Test half-century.

However, on the final ball of the day, Kohli was undone by a subtle delivery from Glenn Phillips. The flatter ball outside off drew a defensive shot from Kohli's bat, but he was unable to middle it before New Zealand wicket-keeper Tom Blundell claimed a catch.  Though initially given out, Kohli immediately reviewed the decision. However, the DRS confirmed a slight edge, leaving him visibly disappointed as he walked back to the pavilion.

When the technology showed the slight edge on Virat Kohli's bat, Rohit Sharma, who is sitting in the dressing room, appeared devastated. This moment capped off difficult day for India, and losing Kohli just before stumps only compounded their troubles, leaving the match now hanging in the balance.

Notably, by the end of day three, India had scored 231 runs for the loss of three wickets. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed 35 runs, while Rohit Sharma made 52 runs, which included eight fours and on six. Virat Kohli added 70 runs to India's cause before his dismissal, while Sarfaraz Khan was not out on 70 runs as well.
