The Mumbai Indians Women have dominated the inaugural WPL season as they have three wins out of three games in the tournament. One of the stars of this brilliant Mumbai start has been the West Bengal spinner Saika Ishaque, who has picked up nine wickets in these three games. With this tally, Ishaque also is the holder of the Purple Cap.

Ishaque hails from Kolkata and has represented Bengal in nearly all age group levels where she was among the top performers in the domestic circuit. These performances earned her a place in the India A Women's side and Trailblazers team in the Women’s T20 Challenge (an exhibition tournament played during previous IPL seasons).
She further received notoriety after dismissing Harmanpreet Kaur and Yastika Bhatia in consecutive deliveries in a domestic match against Punjab. These combined efforts pushed the Mumbai Indians to pick her in the WPL auction at the price of INR 10L. Since her first WPL game, Ishaque has performed at an incredible level and will hope to convert this dream start into a title-winning season.
