International Olympic Committee members, on Wednesday, voted to formally award the 2034 Winter Games to Salt Lake City. With this announcement, Utah's capital will be a repeat Olympic host more than three decades after it had the 2002 Olympics. Further, it will be the fifth time the U.S. has hosted the Winter Games.
Salt Lake won the bid for the 2034 game after an 83-6 vote which was considered only after a contingent of Utah politicians and U.S. Olympic leaders signed an agreement promising to lobby the federal government and push for shutting down the investigation and change the anti-conspiracy law.

Speaking about hosting the Winter Games, Fraser Bullock, the leader of Salt Lake City's bid committee, said, "We are ready. Everything is in place. But beyond our physical assets, you can count on our people. As great as our venues are, our people are even better."
French Alps to host 2030 Winter Olympics, confirms IOA
Earlier today, the International Olympic Committee confirmed that the French Alps will be the host of the 2030 Winter Olympics. Moreover, this confirmation from the IOC comes after French President, Emmanuel Macron vouched his full support. This decision from the ICC was announced after Macron pledged to the IOC members that the incoming Prime Minister will offer a “guarantee” for hosting the event.
