In a big relief to the Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw, the Mumbai Police on June 26, Monday submitted a report to the court after the molestation allegations laid by a social media influencer Sapna Gill. The Bombay High Court, earlier in mid- April had sent a notice to the Mumbai cricketer in response to the petition filed by Gill after an FIR lodged against her for allegedly assaulting and demanding money from Prithvi Shaw.

In the latest update, the allegations made by the influencer has been said “false and unfounded” by the police. The investigating officer from the Mumbai Police told the court during the presiding over the case that the allegations are false and submitted a report on the matter.

However, after the police submitted the report, Gill’s lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan has requested the court to allow him to present the video footage from the brawl, which had earlier gone viral. The court has now adjourned the matter to June 28 and will submit the full footage then.

Earlier, Gill had lodged a complaint seeking registration of FIR under IPC Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) against the Mumbai batter.

Gill was arrested in February, days after controversy over an argument over selfie near a suburban hotel in Mumbai.
