Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi congratulated the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on becoming a father. Bumrah and his wife, Indian sports presenter, Sanjana Ganesan welcomed their first child on Monday, September 4. Bumrah flew to Mumbai last Sunday to be with his wife and missed India’s encounter with Nepal. The Indian and Pakistani sides came against each other in the Super Fours clash of the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday, September 10.
In a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Pakistan pacer could be seen congratulating Bumrah. Not only this, but he also gave him a gift and extended his warm wishes for the newborn. The Indian cricketer was seemingly touched by the gesture of Afridi and thanked him for the same. The video was captioned, “Spreading joy. Shaheen Afridi delivers smiles to new dad Jasprit Bumrah”

Coming back to the game, the 23-year-old bowler was in his red-hot form during the Sunday encounter. Afridi scalped a crucial wicket and dismissed India opener Shubman Gill. The Indian batter walked back to the pavilion after scoring a brilliant 58 runs off 52 balls.
The game came to a standstill due to heavy rain while India’s score tally read 147 with the loss of two wickets. However, after more than two hours, when the match was about to resume at 9 pm (IST), it started raining again and the game got washed out for the day.
As the Super Fours clash between India and Pakistan has a reserve day, the 50-over game will resume at 3 pm (local time) on September 11, Monday, with India in their current position after 24.1 overs.
