Indian fast-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur suffered a blow on his shoulder in Team India's optional practice session in Centurion. Thakur had a sub-par outing in the first Test against South Africa with 24 and two with the bat and one wicket on the ball with figures of 19-2-101-1. The Men in Blue lost the game by an inning and 32 runs.
Coming back to the incident, Shardul Thakur was the first batter to take throwdowns in the nets as per PTI. Then about 15 minutes into the session, one of the balls had some extra bounce up which left Thakur in an uncomfortable position. The ball went on to hit Thakur's left shoulder. After Thakur completed his batting, the physio put an ice pack sling on his shoulder.
