After the success of Maharashtra’s MPL and Tamil Nadu’s TNPL, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is all set to roll out its own inter-state T20 league starting this July. As this is the first season, the tournament won’t feature a franchise-auction model, instead, the state association selectors finalize the squads and their captains, coaches as well as support staff.
Six teams will feature in the competition and all the matches will be hosted by the IS Bindra PCA stadium in Mohali. Due to a shortage of time slots with broadcasters, all the matches will be played on double headers except the finals. Mandeep Singh, Siddharth Kaul, Mayank Markande, Abhishek Sharma, Nehal Wadhera, Prabhsimran Singh, Baltej Singh, and Harpreet Brar are expected to be the marquee players in the teams. Popular Punjabi singers are also expected to perform during the matches.
