BCCI has been the richest cricket board among all other cricketing nations in the world and recently, it was reported that they paid a huge amount of 1,159 crores as tax money in the 2021-22 financial year. BCCI's net worth is currently evaluated to be $2 billion while PCB's net worth stands at just $55 million, hence the difference between an Indian cricketer's salary and a Pakistan cricketer's salary is expected to be very huge.

A grade A+ player from India earns 7 crores per year through an annual contract from BCCI, while a grade A+ player for Pakistan earns only 1.5 crores per year. Indian star players earn a huge amount of 15-plus crores from Indian Premier League (IPL), while Pakistani star players earn a maximum of 1.5 to 2 crores only from a Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition.

Imran Khan's brand value as a politician also saw him earn much more than other Pakistani cricket players. On 5th Aug 2023, Imran Khan was arrested for corruption charges and he has been given a three-year jail sentence but he has appealed against his conviction to come out of jail on bail.
