Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer is fit and will join the Kolkata Knight Riders’ pre-IPL camp soon. There were reports that Iyer’s back injury had aggravated with less than two weeks remaining for the cash-rich tournament. Iyer’s injury resurfaced during his batting for Mumbai in the  Ranji Trophy final. While certain sources suggested that the cricketer could sit out for a few initial matches of the forthcoming tournament, officials have denied the doubts regarding his participation.

Fans and experts were left confused after Iyer was absent from the field during Vidarbha’s second innings on the fourth and fifth days of the Ranji final. Mumbai official denies rumours regarding Shreyas Iyer's participation in IPL 2024

Amidst all the confusion, Mumbai team manager Bhushan Patil denied any jeopardy to Iyer’s participation in the tournament. Patil was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz, “There is no cause for concern, he is fine and will be going to Kolkata for the pre-IPL camp in two days.” The website mentions that KKR also cleared rumours and he is fit. However, the 29-year-old cricketer hasn't confirmed the status of his injury and fitness. 

Apart from that, the reports by Cricbuzz, an insider from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) stated that Iyer’s scan reports are inconclusive. The diagnosis is expected to be clarified upon communication from the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
